About ECO-HOPE
Initiative

A youth-led movement transforming climate anxiety into emotional resilience, creative expression, and collective action for a sustainable and just world.

From Fear to Hope,
From Hope to Action

ECO-HOPE Initiative is a youth-led movement dedicated to addressing climate anxiety among children and young people through storytelling, environmental education, and creative expression.

Founded by visionary youth climate advocate John Kamulegeya, ECO-HOPE empowers young people to rise through fear and uncertainty toward hope, agency, and collective action in the face of the climate crisis.

“Young people do not just need facts about the climate crisis — they need spaces to feel, imagine, create, and lead change together.”
— ECO-HOPE Initiative

The initiative uniquely integrates climate literacy, mental health resilience, and the arts to help youth not only understand the climate crisis but also process their emotions, cultivate empathy, and take transformative action in their communities.

ECO-HOPE works with children and youth aged 3–24 years, with a deliberate focus on marginalized and underrepresented communities, ensuring that every young person has a voice and a story in shaping a sustainable future.
